Long Tail and Consumer Behavior

1. A business named "Puppy Loafers" sells shoes for dogs and cannot get any shelf space in places such as PETSMART and PETCO, because their target audience is very small. Puppy Loafers customers are in a small niche market that isn't satisfied by any stores. So, Long Tail: Puppy Loafers begins selling their product online so the small niche market looking to buy kicks for their dogs can be satisfied.
2. I am a "bargainer" internet user. I will look around the web as long as it takes to find the best deal on something if I am looking to buy. I'll check out most leads that pop up whilst searching and go for the best deal I can find. Of course, I will make sure the place I'm buying from isn't sketchy or seems like a scam, but those sites I typically avoid. When I shop online, I tend to look at more popular and trusted sites like Amazon and eBay, which also makes me a more analyzed user.

  1. I am also a bargainer! I always try to make sure I trust the website I'm buying something on. Like we've discussed before, we shouldn't give away our information to any website because it could have negative repercussions. When I think about it, I've never shopped online anywhere else except eBay and Amazon. They truly have it all! Awesome post! See you in class.

  2. I could not say I am a bargainer like you. I tend to buy on the first website I go to. I am not a very patient person. But just like you, I always make sure that the website is reliable and that I will not get scammed.

  3. I like that you are a bargainer because it's really the most cost effective version of being an internet user and especially an online shopper because you get the most features for the lowest cost. I typically do this with computer parts a lot, and there have even been sites that are constructed specifically for computer people like pcpartpicker that allow us to cross reference all parts and their prices on different platforms on the internet. I wonder if there's a lot of sites out there that just accrue data from other sites and put it together in such a fashion that allows bargain consumers the best possible shopping experience (it also cuts down on the time that you spend shopping!)
